MADISON
CULTURAL MAPPING
Mapping Madison's Cultural Assets
Nashville's Madison community has long been recognized as a center of creative activity—a home for musicians, songwriters, and visual and performing artists—with new creatives moving to the area every day. Madison’s creatives are a vital part of Nashville’s sense of place, economic development and overall quality of life. They represent some of the creatives and freelancers that make up 22% of the county’s workforce.
Metro Arts, working with local artist Kristen Chapman, wants to hear from creatives living and/or working in Madison, learn about their creative practices, and get their thoughts on affordable housing and studio/production spaces. To do this, we are conducting a Madison Cultural Asset Mapping Project that will record, analyze and synthesize information to highlight existing cultural resources in the Madison neighborhood area.
